Thyroid FNA Cytology, Differential Diagnoses and Pitfalls

I recently published a textbook of thyroid cytology, Thyroid FNA Cytology: Differential Diagnoses and Pitfalls from Smashwors. Please examine the link: https://www.smashwords.com/books/view/655745 It is the first English text book of thyroid FNA cytology from Asia and only text book incorporating new disease concept of NIFTP (a borderline thyroid tumor).  This text book also highlighted our differences between Western and Eastern practices, and discuss possible reasons.  To have good performance in your practice, I betlieve this text book serves you as a good references to avoid pitfalls.

Thyroid Meeting Yokohama

A stimulative and enjoyable congress of cytology, ICC2016 Yokohama, was over. There were several important sessions focused to establishing next diagnostic systems on thyroid cytology. The second edition of the Bethesda system for reporting thyroid cytopathology is under revision and will be published in 2017.  Comparison of different diagnostic systems and their characteristics were discussed in symposium 5 (Fig 1) and main modifications in the forthcoming second edition were released in the symposium 12 (Fig 2). A satellite meeting, Thyroid Meeting in Yokohama, was held on 30th at the Tokyu Bay Hotel where we could exchange our friendships and start next international collaborations (Fig 4). The symposium 16 focused on histopathologic diagnoses and Slide Seminer 4 (Asian Forum) presented differential diagnosis of papillary thyroid carcinoma (Fig 6 and 7). We had more opportunity to vistit at Ito Hospital, Tokyo, where Dr Toriya initiated thyroid FNA practice in Japan (Fig 8).
